The water is very cold (it rises from an underground aquifer) — thermal shock if you get in too fast. Slippery underwater ground — water shoes required. Parking is an extra $30 MXN.

- · In 1950 the spring dried up completely. On May 10, 1951, after a huge storm, it burst forth so powerfully it filled the pools in a single night — locals remember it as 'the miracle of Tambaque.'
